Three injured in B.C. avalanche

NELSON. B.C. - Three people have survived an

avalanche in the same area of British

Columbia where Michel Trudeau died last


Two men and woman suffered numerous

injuries, including leg and jaw fractures,

following an avalanche at Kokanee Provincial

Park. They were among a group of eight

people who were back-country skiing when the

avalanche hit.

The three have been airlifted to hospital where

their injuries are described as non-life


In November, the 23-year-old son of former

prime minister Pierre Trudeau was killed after

being swept by an avalanche into Kokanee

Lake. His body was never recovered.
