An avalanche incident near Table Mountain southwest of Mt

Baker last Sunday when a cornice collapse took a back country

skier and much of the most recent snow for about a 600 ft

vertical ride before completely burying the victim. Fortunately

the skier was wearing an avalanche beacon and was recovered by

friends and other eyewitnesses apparently uninjured within about

10-15 minutes.
