The purpose of an Avalanche Watch (AVA’s) is to warn the public that Avalanche Warning criteria are likely to be met in the next 24 hours. During an Avalanche Watch, avalanche conditions have not yet met the criteria for a Warning, but they are expected to become more dangerous later that day or the next.
